There isn’t much time left to donate to the Fond du Lac Area United Way. Director Amber Kilawee says the fund drive is just $50,000 short of the goal. “From now until the end of this month you can still make a donation to help us reach that goal,” Kilawee told WFDL news. “You can go to our website at fdlunited.org. Ninety-nine percent of what we raise in Fond du Lac County stays in Fond du Lac to help more than 30,000 men, women and children.” Meanwhile the United Way is teaming up with H&R Block to help you file your taxes. My Free Taxes is completely free for households who earned less than $66,000 last year.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
