Tickets are still on sale for the second Live in Swing City jazz performance at Fond du Lac High School this weekend. Band director Matt McVeigh says more than 70 kids from all three jazz emsembles will recreate a jazz club or dance scene from the 1940s. McVeigh says its amazing how accomplished these students are. “I would like to believe that the music is a big part of what motivates them (students) and its infectious, its energetic,” McVeigh told WFDL news. McVeigh says the show is another illustration of why music is an important part of these students’ lives. “Band programs are going to do different things. Marching bands tend to be the most visible, Jazz provides the most individual expression.” Doors open at 6:15pm Saturday with the dance beginning at 7pm. New this year will be a live raffle inbcluding a 2017 autographed Green Bay Packer football. Tickets are available at hometowntickets.com. Desserts will be served as part of the ticket purchase.
