Fond du Lac police say a taxi driver died from natural causes before his taxi cab crashed into a tree earlier this month. Seventy five year old Richard Kunasch died this week at Theda Care Medical Center in Neenah. The crash happened January 4 on Hawthorne Drive.just east of Buttermilk Drive. The owner of three scrap metal companies has been convicted of defrauding a Fond du lac scrap metal company out of millions of dollars. At a plea hearing Thursday Sterling Kienbaum pleaded no contest to racketeering and theft. A restitution hearing is scheduled for May and and a sentencing hearing in June. Two people received minor injuries in a two vehicle crash in Fond du Lac. The crash happened shortly before 7pm Wednesday at the intersection of Third Street and Park Avenue. Both vehicles sustained significant front end damage.

Heavy trucks can no longer drive over the South Hickory Street Bridge in Fond du lac. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has reduced the load limit on the the bridge between Western Avenue and S. Military Road to 30-Tons, affecting heavily loaded semi traffic.
