1-11-18 longtime fdl firefighter/paramedic retires

Longtime Fond du Lac firefighter/paramedic Todd Shippee is retiring.  Shippee is leaving the department after 32 years of service.  "I love that job, its really hard to walk away from it,"  Shippee told WFDL news.  Shippee says he will miss the job and the people he has worked with over the years.  Shippee was recognized at Wednesday night’s city council meeting.

1-10-18 oshkosh man sentenced to prison for violent domestic incident in fdl

An Oshkosh man convicted in connection with  a violent domestic incident in Fond du Lac is going to prison.    Fond  du Lac judge Dale English sentenced Anthony Vera to five years in prison and five years extended supervision.  Vera earlier entered an Alford plea to a charge of third degree sexual assault and no contest to misdemeanor battery.  Eight other charges were dismissed and read into the record.

1-10-18 fdl man gets prison for killing pet cat

A Fond du Lac man convicted of killing a pet cat is going to prison.  Fond du Lac Judge Robert Wirtz sentenced Preston Buck to a total of four and a half years in prison on multiple charges including mistreatment of animals causing death and bail jumping.  Buck told police he kicked the cat because it knocked over a lamp.  The cat was brought to the animal shelter where it […]

The Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross is making an urgent plea for blood donations.   Red Cross spokeswoman Laura McGuire says there is an urgent need for blood and platelet donors of all blood types to address a winter blood donation shortage.  McGuire says severe winter weather has resulted in more than 150 blood drives being forced to cancel.  Several  blood drives are planned this month in Fond du […]
