Authorities say a woman found dead on the shores of an eastern Wisconsin lake likely died of exposure to frigid temperatures.  Fond du Lac County sheriff's officials say 27-year-old Lindsey Klima was last seen leaving an ice shanty on Lake Winnebago approximately 100 yards from shore about 1:30 a.m. Monday. 1-2-18 democratic gubenatorial candidates-generational difference

Paul Soglin had already completed three terms as mayor of Madison before Kelda Roys was born in 1979.  Now they're both running for governor, illustrating a generational divide among Democratic candidates.  Soglin, at 72, and Roys, 38, are the oldest and youngest of the nine best-known candidates. Seven of the Democrats are Baby Boomers, while Roys and union firefighter head Mahlon Mitchell, 40, come from the tail end of Generation X.

1-2-18 fire destroys wisconsin business

Authorities are investigating the cause of a weekend fire at a Mondovi business.  A passer-by alerted authorities after seeing smoke coming from a barn at Loomis Lazy L Tack and Trailer Sales early Sunday afternoon.  The Buffalo County Sheriff's Department says the building was destroyed. 1-2-18 tree stand death-sauk county

A Milwaukee man is dead after falling out of a tree stand while hunting in Sauk County on Sunday. The sheriff's office says 50-year-old Jacob Herr was wearing a safety harness, but it had not been attached to the tree.  A hunting companion found Herr's body at the base of the tree.

1-2-18 cold weather related deaths-milwaukee

Authorities are investigating two suspected cold weather-related deaths in Milwaukee amid subzero temperatures and wind chills.  Officials with the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office say the body of a man in his 50s was found Sunday morning in the alley behind his residence.  The body of a 34-year-old man was found in another location in the city Sunday afternoon.
