WHITE LAKE, Wis. (AP) — Sheriff's officials say a problem that led them to close a popular campground in a northern Wisconsin forest has been resolved. 1-25-18 fire at kohler co. foundry

No injuries have been reported in a fire at the Kohler Company.  Firefighters were called to the scene about 11:30pm Wednesday for a report of a fire in the foundry building.    Officials have not said what the extent of damage is.  Kohler is a manufacturer of  kitchen and bath plumbing fixtures, tile, small engines, and generators.

1-25-18 dnr confirms cougar was spotted near rosendale

The Department of Natural Resources has confirmed a cougar was photographed in Fond du Lac County  this month.  The cougar was captured on a trail camera near Rosendale January 5.   The DNR says a cougar was also spotted in Lincoln and Langlade Counties in December.

1-25-18 fdl city council rejects special use permit request

1-25-18 unemployment rate at record low

The local unemployment rate is down slightly.   The December  unemployment rate dropped a tenth of a percent to 2.4 pecent in  the city of Fond du Lac, a record low.  The rate dropped  to 2.2 percent in Fond du Lac County and 2.3 percent in Dodge County.    Eighteen of the 32 largest cities and  48 of the state’s 72 counties tied or reached their lowest December unemployment rates on record.

1-25-18 south park avenue closure

The Fond du Lac Public Works Department is warning  motorists that a portion of South Park Avenue will be closed Thursday and Friday.   South Park Avenue between 7th Street and 9th Street will be closed between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM.   The street closure will be in place to allow contactors to remove terrace trees.
