Snow covered slippery roads are being blamed for a fatal two vehicle crash in Fond du lac County Saturday morning. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says westbound car on Highway 44 operated by a 50 year old Sheboygan woman crossed the center line, striking an eastbound pickup truck. A 77 year old female passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the hospital. The car driver was transported to Ripon Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The 52 year old male driver of the pickup was treated at the scene and released. All three were wearing seatbelts.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
