2-7-18 fdl job fair

todayFebruary 7, 2018

After a two-year hiatus, the annual Fond du Lac Job Fair will return to the Expo Center at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds, 1-4 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2018. Local workforce partners, including the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, sponsor the recruitment event held at 529 Fond du Lac Avenue, Fond du Lac.  This will be a major job fair for the area, addressing the employment needs of 2018 high school graduates seeking work after graduation, individuals recently laid off from Saputo Cheese or Younkers who would still be seeking roles and the general public who might be looking to make a career change or seek a role with higher wages in this very tight marketplace. Although the region has seem some recent layoffs, the most recent unemployment rate in Fond du Lac County stands at a record breaking 2.2%. Employers need to do everything possible to connect with future employees and this job fair is back to help these employers with this challenge.   Companies are encouraged to offer on-site interviews while local job service partners will have information about additional educational opportunities and job search assistance.
Space is limited and the cost to reserve a booth is $200 before March 1 and $250 from March 1 until April 1. After April 1, the cost jumps to $300. All employers are encouraged to register at https://2018fonddulacjobfair.eventbrite.com. Questions about the job fair should be directed to Bobbi Miller at Fox Valley Workforce Development Board at bmiller@fvwdb.com or 920-720-5600 extension 307, or Debra Warga, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development at Debra.Warga@dwd.wisconsin.gov or 920-968-6308.
