2-7-18 stock market tumble

todayFebruary 7, 2018

A Ripon College economics professor says people need to take a deep breath following the stock market free fall this week.   Professor Paul Schoofs says  ironically the concern was that if the economy gets much stronger it could touch off inflation.  But Schoofs  says the market has to correct itself before the bull market can continue.  “I think a lot of people who are actively involved in stock market transactions are going to be relieved and say we’ve had that correction that was so long overdue, now we can get back to more normal stock market activity and longer term growth,”
Schoofs told WFDL news.   Schoofs says overall the economic  outlook for 2018 is good.  The Dow Jones gained 567 points Tuesday after losing 1175 points the day before.
