The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says a child porn video that went viral this week should be a wake-up call for residents about what you should and should not do if you see something like this on your computer. The man who allegedly made the video turned himself into police in Alabama. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says people who shared the video with good intentions to find the perpetrator, including a Fond du Lac County woman, were actually breaking the law. “As soon as you view it and share it with somebody else, its child pornography and its a pretty serious crime,” Waldschmidt told WFDL news. “Even though their intent was good in trying to get the word out to find the suspect and identify him, it certainly is not the right way to go about doing that. You ceretainly could get yourself in a lot of trouble.” Waldschmidt says investigators say they have never seen a video go this viral this fast.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
