The Fond du Lac County Clerk is reminding Fond du Lac County residents that there will be a February 20 primary election. Clerk Lisa Freiberg says there will be one statewide race on the ballot for Supreme Court and a race for village of North Fond du lac board president. Village board president Jim Moore is not running for re-election. Board members, Martin Schreiber, Keith King and Mike Streetar are on the ballot with the top two vote getters advancing the April election. Freiberg says she anticipates a low turnout across the county.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
