State health officials say it may still be a while before the flu season peaks. The latest report from the Department of Health Services shows the number of flu cases is still on the rise. “They’re really anticipating at least a couple more weeks,” Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller told WFDL news. Mueller says people who are sick need to stay home.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
