Two people were seriously injured in a two vehicle crash in Fond du lac County. On February 8th 2018 at 7:30 pm the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office along with Mt. Calvary Fire Department and Ambulance were dispatched to a two vehicle crash on County Road WH, east of Konen Road in the Township of Taycheedah. The initial investigation indicates that a west bound vehicle driven by a 35-year-old Fond du Lac man, cross the center line and struck an east bound vehicle driven by a 41-year-old Mt. Calvary man. Both men had to be extricated from their vehicles and both were flown to Theda Care Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office. County Road WH was closed for approximately 5 hours as the crash was investigated and the scene was cleaned up. Assisting at the scene were; City of Fond du Lac Ambulance, Town of Calumet Fire Department, Flight for Life & Theda Star Helicopters, and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
