Fond du Lac Saint Agnes Hospital officials say the flu epidemic has had an impact locally, but there are currently no plans to limit visitors. Hospital Chief Operating and Chief Nursing Officer Kathryn Vergos says several people have been hospitalized locally for treatment of the flu. “We see quite a bit of flu coming through our emergency department, Vergos told WFDL news. “On average we’ve had anywhere from nine to 13 patients a day at St. Agnes Hospital over the last month.” Vergos says the situation is being monitored daily, but says the hospital has not limited visitors in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus. Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee has banned visitors younger than 12. State health officials say the number of flu cases continues to increase.
