Fond du Lac police are investigating several reports of gunshots fired in the city Monday night. Police say nobody was hurt and no property damage was reported. Assistant police chief Steve Thiry says the first report came in shortly before 10:30pm of shots apparently fired from a vehicle in the 500 block of 4th St. Officers found handgun shell casings in the street but did not locate any suspects or a suspect vehicle. Initial information from witnesses indicates the suspect vehicle may be a dark colored passenger car. Thiry says about a half hour later police received at least 15 additional reports of shots fired at various locations in the city but found no evidence of gunshots. “I’m not sure what the motivation was for these shots fired. The fact we don’t have any reported property damage and certainly no injuries to people kind of makes you question whether that was the intent originally. But it is really hard to say this early in the investigation,” Thiry told WFDL news. Thiry says anyone with information is asked to call police.
