A Chilton man was arrested following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County. The six mile chase started at 11:32pm Sunday when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull over a speeding vehicle on Hwy 151 near Schaefer Dr. in the Town of Lamartine. The driver continued northbound on 151 until the car ran over stop sticks that had been placed on the road. The driver was taken into custody without further incident.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
