2-23-18 ocd week of action

todayFebruary 23, 2018

This is OCD Week of Action with a goal of changing people’s perception about mental health and the stigma that surrounds it.   Fond du Lac County resident Christine Ewerdt’s teenage son has obsessive compulsive disorder.  Ewerdt says her experience has been that schools don’t have the resources they need to address students with OCD.  She says one idea may be to  have other students be peer mentors to a child with OCD.    Some estimates say it can take more than a decade from the onset of symptoms to get a correct diagnosis.    Advocates say OCD is treatable and you need to take action to treat OCD as soon as possible.
