Fond du Lac police are investigating a threatening social media post directed at Fond du Lac High School. Principal Matt Steinbarth sent a letter to parents Monday stating that the matter was discovered and investigated by police and at no time were students or staff in danger. Steinbarth did not say what the nature of the threat was. Steinbarth says it’s a reminder that threatening social media posts can have significant consequences and asks parents to talk with their kids about making solid choices when it comes to online behavior.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
