2-27-18 renovation work expected to begin this year on fdl forest mall

todayFebruary 27, 2018

The managing partner of the Texas-based company that owns the Fond du Lac Forest Mall tells WFDL news  he anticipates renovation work to begin and new tenants announced this year.  In an exclusive interview with WFDL news Tony Ruggeri with ATR Corinth says he’s confident the mall will be successful.  “The plans are moving along very nicely.  We’ve now owned the mall almost two years and we still have strong reactions from key tennants and key retailers that there’s interest and we are pursuing all of those,”  Ruggeri said.  “We would anticipate there will be some activity on the mall property by the end of the year, yes.  And its not going to look like it looks now.”   Ruggeri says he can’t comment on potential tenants including rumors that the superstore chain Meijer is coming to the mall, but says there are interested parties.  “As part of what we redevelop we have to reconfigure how everything is set up so its more in line with how people actually shop.”    Younkers announced earlier this month that it would be closing by April first. Dunhams Sporting Goods closed recently.  In the last few years, Sears and  JC  Penny also closed.
