2-12-18 flu epidemic impacting st. agnes hospital

CONOVER, Wis. (AP) — Authorities say a snowmobiler was killed in a weekend crash in northern Wisconsin. The Vilas County sheriff's office say a 911 caller reported the crash on the shoreline of Buckatabon Lake early Saturday. The snowmobile driver was dead at the scene. 2-12-18 aaa-drowsy driving study

A new AAA study shows that one in 10 U.S. highway crashes is the result of drowsy driving.  State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmuscz says that’s  as much as eight times more than what previous federal estimates have indicated.  Jarmuscz says the findings show that drowsy driving is nearly as dangerous as drunk driving.  Jarmuscz says the study comes in light of separate data from the Centers for Disease Control and […]

2-10-18 minor injuries in snowmobile accident at fishing has no boundaries bash

One person received minor injuries in a snowmobile accident on Lake Winnebago.  The incident happened shortly after 2pm Saturday  near Roosevelt Park.  The MT Motorsports snowmobile drag races are part of the Fishing Has No Boundaries Bash fundraiser and is not affiliated with the Sturgeon Spectacular festival.   The snowmobile operator reported  he had lower back pain following the crash.   The scene was cleared before 3pm.

Thousands of sturgeon spearing shanties dot Lake Winnebago this weekend for the opening of the sturgeon spearing season.  DNR senior fisheries biologist Ryan Koenigs says the sturgeon population in Lake Winnebago is healthy.  "There's definately a lot of fish out there.  We've got roughly 19,000 adult females and 24,000 adult males,"  Koenigs told WFDL news.  Koenigs says the season is expected to last the full 16 days because of poor […]
