2-8-18 flu season still hasn’t peaked

State health officials say it may still be a while before the flu season peaks.   The latest report from the Department of Health Services shows the number of flu cases is still on the rise.  "They're really anticipating at least a couple more weeks,"  Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller told WFDL news.   Mueller says people who are sick need to stay home.

2-8-18 children’s hospital bans young visitors due to the flu

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Children's Hospital of Wisconsin is banning young visitors and at least one Milwaukee school is closing due to the flu outbreak that has ravaged the country.  The suburban Milwaukee hospital is not allowing children under 12 to visit patients beginning Thursday to prevent the flu from spreading. 2-8-18 man sentenced to prison for threatening to kill fdl county da

A man claiming to be an ISIS member who threatened to kill Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney will spend additional time behind bars.  Dodge County Judge Brian Pfitzinger sentenced 29 year old  James Luke, to two years in prison and  an additional two  years of extended supervision.   Luke is currently incarcerated on an unrelated charge.   Wednesday’s sentence was imposed consecutively, which delays Luke’s potential release date into 2038.  […]

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Family and friends are mourning the death of a 7-year-old St. Paul boy who died after crashing into a tree while sledding in Wisconsin.  Simon Caquelin was a first-grader at Central Lutheran School in St. Paul. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A court has blocked an exotic dance club from operating in Winnebago County.  Green Valley Investments LLC opened Stars Cabaret in 2006 in the Town of Neenah. The establishment didn't follow a county ordinance establishing that strip clubs be setback from residential areas, obtain a permit and can't serve alcohol.  A federal court found the permit requirement unconstitutional but upheld the setback and no-alcohol provisions.
