2-26-18 sturgeon spearing season coming to a close

The sturgeon harvest on Lake Winnebago is closing in on 600 fish.  The DNR says 23 fish were speared on Friday and 43 fish were harvested Saturday bringing the total number harvested on Lake Winnebago to 640.   Another 297 sturgeon were taken from the upriver lakes, for a total of 937 system-wide.   The largest sturgeon Saturday was 137.4 pounds and 76.1 inches.  The fish was registered at Calumet Harbor by […]

2-26-18 storybook land promotes literacy

The Fond du Lac High School Key Club is promoting literacy.   Storybook Land featured 50 Key Clubbers and other high school students performing five stories for young children ages three to 10.  The students performed Frozen, Peter Pan, Cat in the Hat, Old McDonald and Beauty and the Beast.   Rachel Hayes says she enjoys seeing the kids reactions to their favorite stories acted out.   "It gets them excited to visit […]

2-24-18 dodge county criminal interdiction in lomira

2-24-18 plane slides off icy runway at green bay airport

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A passenger plane slid off an icy runway at an airport in eastern Wisconsin after it was diverted from Minnesota because of heavy snow.  Officials say no injuries were reported among the 180 passengers and seven crew members on United Airlines flight 878. 2-24-18 wi dairy says owner among three plane crash victims

ROSSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — A Wisconsin dairy company says its owner and his son-in-law were among three people killed when a small plane crashed into a central Indiana farm field.  Pagel's Ponderosa Dairy said the people killed were owner John T. 2-24-18 waupun-well water testing

Families in the Waupun area are invited to test their well water  with Rock River Intermediate School and the UW-Fond du Lac Extension Office.    You can register and pay for the testing at a demonstration program presented by Rock River Intermediate School students on Tuesday March 13 from 5-7pm.   Testing helps understand risk by revealing what, if any, contaminants are in the drinking water.
