2-21-18 nfdl village board president race and higher than expected voter turnout in the county

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The bulk of Gov. 2-21-18 state senate votes to shut down ozone monitor in sheboygan county

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Senate has passed a bill that would allow for shutting down an ozone monitor in Sheboygan County's Kohler-Andre State Park on the Lake Michigan shoreline.  The Senate approved the bill Tuesday with all Republicans in support, Democrats against.  The monitor is one of 38 such sites around the state that's part of Wisconsin's air quality management program. 2-21-18 fdl recycling pick-up a day behind schedule this week because of icy roads

Recycling pick up in Fond du Lac is running a day behind schedule.  Due to the icy road conditions Waste Management did not have trucks in their recycling routes Tuesday.  They will start Tuesday’s route on Wednesday and run the rest of the week one day behind.   Waste Management will pick recycling bins up this week, just a day late.  Any questions may be directed to Waste Management at 923-8826. 2-20-18 freezing rain and patchy freezing fog in forecast for tuesday morning

2-20-18 flu update

The flu vaccine is working better than doctors feared, but still is not especially effective.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports overall this year’s vaccine is 36 percent effective.   Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer, Kim Mueller, says the good news is that it works better in kids.  The vaccine provided 59 percent protection against H3N2 in children eight and younger.  Mueller says vaccine effectiveness is tricky […]

2-20-18 fdl county clerk predicting very low voter turnout in primary
