The Fond du Lac High School principal says a threat posted on social media this week is a reminder for parents to have a talk with their kids about the consequences of their actions. Matt Steinbarth says the threat was directed at the high school, but police determined that at no time were students or staff in danger. “Unfortunately with this day and age and as a parent of students in the Fond du Lac School District I would be lying if I didn’t say my wife and I have conversations regarding this,” Steinbarth told WFDL news. “The biggest thing for me is making sure students know that if they hear or see something going on that makes them uncomfortable to bring it to us right away.” Steinbarth says while school security is important its also very important that schools try to intercede on the front end with troubled students. Steinbarth says its important for kids to feel that they have somebody at the school they can talk to or ask for help.
