Two lucky players including someone from Fond du Lac matched all five numbers in the Badger 5 drawing this week to split the $104,000 jackpot. Wednesday’s winning Badger 5 numbers were 2, 7, 20, 23 and 27. The lucky winners purchased their tickets from the West Pioneer Road Pick N Save in Fond du Lac and Krist Food Mart in Woodruff. Winners have 180 days from the drawing to claim their prizes by mail or in person at the Lottery’s Madison or Milwaukee offices.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
