A Republican state senator from Fond du Lac says all options need to be on the table when it comes to protecting school children following the mass shooting in Florida. State senator Dan Feyen says he’s willing to listen to proposals that would allow teachers to carry a gun in school if they are comfortable with doing so. Governor Scott Walker came out last week in opposition to a proposal that would allow teachers to be armed.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
