One person was killed in an explosion at a Beaver Dam apartment complex. The force of the explosion blew out windows and a sliding glass door in the apartment. Investigators say dangerous chemicals found in the apartment forced the evacuation of several apartments in the vicinity. Those residents were allowed to return to their apartments last night. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Beaver Dam Police Department with the incident that occurred at 109 Knaup Drive within the City of Beaver Dam. This address is within an apartment complex on the north side of Beaver Dam. The incident itself is still under investigation.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
