3-6-18 waupun superintendent-school safety

todayMarch 6, 2018

The Waupun school superintendent says area school leaders and law enforcement are discussing security issues following the recent mass shooting at a Florida High School.  For example, Dr. Tonya Olson says the high school liason officer has requested that police officers on patrol stop by the school over the lunch hour.  Olson says the recently passed building referendum also increases security at entrances to the district elementary schools.   Olson says schools need more resources to intervene at an early age for students with mental health issues.
