Governor Scott Walker will be the keynote speaker at the bi-annual Lincoln Day brunch in Fond du Lac next month. The governor has been warning Republicans that voters are unhappy and Democrats are motivated. Walker is running for a third term. Chairman of the Republican Party of Fond du Lac County, Rohn Bishop, says the governor’s message is a reminder that despite recent success Republicans can’t take elections for granted. The Lincoln Day brunch hosted by the Republican parties of Fond du Lac and Calumet counties will be held Sunday, April 8 at the Whispering Springs Golf Club in Fond du lac.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
