Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a Fond du Lac home that was divided up into apartments. Shortly before 5pm Monday fire crews responded to 30 E. 10th St. lower unit and found a fire in the kitchen. The fire was quickly extinguished but not before the fire caused smoke and heat damage to the unit. As a result, the home is uninhabitable until repairs are made. There was no one home at the time of the fire. One pet cat was rescued and received oxygen by paramedics who utilized a special mask especially made for pets. One adult and three children have been displaced and are being helped by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
