The Fond du Lac police chief says high school students who smeared chocolate syrup, ketchup and mustard on several Fond du Lac homes this week have been identified. Police chief Bill Lamb says he would describe the incidents more like a prank rather than vandalism. “Yeah I think that’s the most accurate way to describe it. I think this is more a case of , time to time, and its usually high school kids going out doing stuff like this where the intent is some kind of a prank,” Lamb told WFDL news. Lamb says it doesn’t appear these kids were trying to cause any damage, unlike other acts of vandalism.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
