A Menasha man has been convicted of charges stemming from a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County. A Fond du lac jury has found Anthony Rivera guilty of eluding, recklessly endangering safety, and possession of cocaine. According to a criminal complaint Rivera led sheriff’s deputies on a 13 mile long chase on Highway 151 south of Fond du Lac last October that reached speeds of 100 miles an hour. The chase ended shortly after Rivera’s vehicle ran over stop sticks placed on the road near Highway 49.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
