Town of Friendship residents are expressing concern about the expansion of a large farm near Lake Winnebago without first obtaining the proper permits. The town of Friendship Board held a special meeting this week after neighbors complained about the expansion of the Kevin Kaiser farm located on Kinker Road, less than a thousand feet from the lake. Fond du Lac County conservationist Paul Tollard says Kaiser is working to obtain the proper storm water runoff permits and to develop a nutrient management plan. He says construction of a large calf-holding barn last fall was also in violation of county ordinances.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
