MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says an Assembly bill that would expand background checks on long-gun buyers is all but dead. The Assembly passed a bill Thursday that would require the state Department of Justice to conduct background checks on long-gun purchasers.

3-24-18 east division street closure

A portion of East Division Street will be closed Monday.  Fond du Lac Public Works says the westbound lane of East Division will be closed to allow a contractor to inspect the exterior masonry of the Retlaw Hotel.    The hotel is in the process of a multi-million dollar renovation.  The street is expected to reopen by the end of the day.

3-24-18 waupun man dies from suspected drug overdose

Waupun police are investigating another suspected drug overdose death.  Police say the body of the 29 year old man was found  Thursday  in a residence in the 400 block of W Brown Street.   Police say the death does not appear suspicious and drug paraphernalia was located at the scene.

3-24-18 fdl stem institute odyssey of the mind advances to world finals

The Fond du Lac STEM Institute ‘s Odyssey of the Mind team has earned an invitation to the World Finals.  The state championship team is comprised of Mason McGrath, Kennedy George, Jared Ott, Nathan Ott, Ruby Riegert, and Zoe Perkins.  The team's problem, challenged them to create three-dimensional  emojis to be used to communicate the life story of a once famous, but now forgotten, emoji.  The students will represent Fond […]

3-24-18 free spirit riders-grant

A Fond du Lac area group that provides therapeutic horseback riding for disabled  people has received a gift.   The Million Dollar Roundtable Foundation has awarded a  $2,000 grant to Free SPIRIT Riders.  Representing the Foundation, Mike Immel,  from Immel Insurance & Financial Services,  presented a check to Free SPIRIT Riders earlier this month.

KIEL, Wis. 3-23-18 bob’s pizza reopening its doors

It didn’t take long.     After closing its doors earlier this week  Bob’s Pizza  is reopening  today under new ownership.   Fond du Lac convenience store owners Jeff and Steve Korneli have purchased  the longtime pizza carryout and delivery store.   Bob’s has been in business in Fond du Lac since 1969.  Steve Korneli will be a guest on AM 1170s Between the Lines program at 9:45am.   Bob’s will reopen at 11am today.
