Its that time of year. Fond du Lac County Emergency Management is holding a severe weather safety and spotter training session. The event will be held from 6:30pm to 8:30pm Thursday in the legislative chambers at the Fond du lac city-county government center. The first hour will focus on severe weather safety and the second hour will be about spotter training. Interested members of the public are encouraged to attend. Next week is severe weather awareness week in Wisconsin.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
