An Illinois man has been arrested following a 25 mile long high speed chase in Fond du Lac County. The chase started shortly after 1:30am Thursday when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Highway 151 near Highway D. The driver fled southbound at speeds of 115 miles an hour, through Waupun and north on Highway 49 before it missed a turn and became stuck in a snowbank in the village of Brandon. The driver was apprehended a short time later. The Waupun Police K9 helped capture a second suspect. The driver was identified as a 26-year-old male from Illinois. He is being charged with OWI 1st offense, resisting, felony fleeing, multiple drug charges, and a number of moving violations. The driver also had a drug warrant from Fond du Lac County. The passenger was identified as a 34-year-old male from Milwaukee and is being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting/obstructing. The vehicle has been involved in prior chases in Fond du Lac County and Illinois over the past few months. The driver was not apprehended in those cases.
