4-14-18 governor orders flags to half-staff in honor of peg lautenschlager

Governor Scott Walker has ordered flags to half-staff on Sunday in honor of former Wisconsin attorney general  Peg Lautenschlager.  Lautenschlager died last month at her home in Fond du Lac after a long battle with cancer.  She was 62.  A public memorial will be held from 1-4pm Sunday at the Whispering Springs Golf Course in Fond du Lac.  Friends and fellow politicians are remembering  Lautenschlager as someone who was passionate […]

4-13-18 marinette judge stays order to place child sex offender in fdl county

A Marinette County judge has stayed his order to place a violent  child sex offender in Fond du Lac County, but the Department of Health Services is going to try to place Jeffrey Butler at the town of Eldorado residence this morning.  Sheriff Mick Fink says Fond du Lac judge Robert Wirtz granted a restraining order late Thursday afternoon and says he is on Nitschke Road to turn Butler away.  […]

4-13-18 fire destroys barn in fdl county

Fire destroyed a barn in Fond du Lac County.  Firefighters from Mount Calvary and several  area departments responded to N7926 Tower Rd  Thursday afternoon for a report of a vehicle on fire inside of a barn.  Investigators say a 24 year old Fond du Lac man was working on a Demolition Derby car inside the barn when it accidently started on fire.  The barn and all its contents were destroyed.  […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin farmers strapped by stagnant dairy and grain markets are expressing interest in growing industrial hemp this year.  Brian Kuhn is the director of the plant industry bureau at the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.
