4-26-18 local unemployment rate down

The unemployment rate has dropped below three percent in Fond du lac and Dodge counties.  The March jobless rate fell three tenths of a percent to 2.9 percent in Dodge County and 2.7 percent in Fond du lac County.   The city of Fond du Lac’s March unemployment rate stands at 2.8 percent, down from 3.1 percent in February.

4-25-18 dark sky exercise

A full-scale training exercise simulating a long-term mass power outage in Wisconsin kicks off next month at sites around the state.  The  Dark Sky exercise runs May 15-17 in Brown, Calumet, Dane, Fond du Lac, Milwaukee, Outagamie and Winnebago Counties and will test the abilities of private utilities, law enforcement, first responders and the National Guard to respond to the scenario as well as its second and third order effects.  […]

4-25-18 fdl rolling meadows golf course is open…again

4-25-18 drug impaired drivers targeted

A Fond du lac County Sheriff’s captain says last weekend’s drug enforcement detail shows how dangerous  our local highways are.   Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says three drivers were arrested for driving while under the influence of drugs and  he says its not just at night.  "With these restricted controlled substances in their system we find these drivers all hours of the day."

4-25-18 state begins taking applications for school safety grants

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Department of Justice began accepting applications Tuesday for $100 million in new school safety grants.  The money for the grants was the centerpiece of a bill Republican Gov. 4-25-18 fdl school district pep grants paying dividends

Fond du Lac elementary school students are benefiting from two grants designed to help students keep physically active.  The District received the Carolyn M. Anne Abel (right), a current Driver’s Education instructor and former teacher in the Fond du Lac School District, was recently recognized by the Wisconsin Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association (WDTSEA) as the Driver Education Teacher of the Year.
