The unemployment rate has dropped below three percent in Fond du lac and Dodge counties. The March jobless rate fell three tenths of a percent to 2.9 percent in Dodge County and 2.7 percent in Fond du lac County. The city of Fond du Lac’s March unemployment rate stands at 2.8 percent, down from 3.1 percent in February.
A full-scale training exercise simulating a long-term mass power outage in Wisconsin kicks off next month at sites around the state. A Fond du lac County Sheriff’s captain says last weekend’s drug enforcement detail shows how dangerous our local highways are. Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says three drivers were arrested for driving while under the influence of drugs and he says its not just at night. "With these restricted controlled substances in their system we find these drivers all hours of the day."
