4-23-18 synthetic cannabinoid illnesses reported in milwaukee

4-23-18 area schools recognized for success in educating students who live in poverty

Several area schools are being recognized for success in educating students who come from economically disadvantaged  families.  Wisconsin Title One Schools of Recognition include Jefferson Elementary School in Beaver Dam,  Oakfield Elementary School,  and Chegwin Elementary and Sabish Middle School in Fond du lac.  The awards recognize efforts to break in the link between poverty and low academic achievement.

Fond du lac Public Works says a portion of South Hickory Street is closed this week.  South Hickory between Ruggles Street and Emma Street  will be closed completely starting Monday at 7:00 AM and remain closed for the week.  The closure will allow the water department to repair two water leaks. 4-21-18 fdl school bus hits parked vehicle

Nobody was injured when a school bus collided with a parked vehicle in Fond du lac.  There were kids on the bus when it struck a truck with plow that was parked on the wrong side of the street.  The incident happened Thursday on Dewberry Drive at Primrose Lane.

4-21-18 three campbellsport high school students to compete at world robotics championship

4-21-18 agnesian healthcare nurse wins nightingale honor

Agnesian HealthCare nurse Brooke Mielkie is among six recipients to be honored with the Nightingale Award.  The award was presented  at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh’s College of Nursing Nightingale Awards Dinner. The program honors registered nurses and licensed practical nurses involved in direct patient care who exemplify the highest standards of nursing practice.  Mielkie has worked at Agnesian HealthCare informatics department since 2014.

4-20-18 fdl woman rescued from fdl river

A Fond du Lac woman was rescued from the Fond du lac  River Thursday afternoon.  Rescue personnel  pulled  the woman  from the river at 12th Street where she was treated at the scene for exposure to the cold.  Fire chief Pete O’Leary says the victim was yelling for help and alert neighbors kept her stable while the other one called 9-1-1.  O’Leary says the outcome could have been much different […]
