An Oakfield man has died in a two vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened Monday afternoon on State Highway 23 at County Highway C. Investigators say a car stopped at a stop sign on C, and then entered the intersection striking the passenger side of a westbound semi-tractor trailer on Highway 23. The car spun around and was struck by the rear tires of the semi. The car driver, 71 year old Joseph Mineau of Oakfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver, 31 year old Jason Mueller from Eden, was not injured.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
