Investigators say two marsh fires in Fond du Lac County this morning are suspicious. Shortly after 3am Tuesday volunteer firefighters responded to the scene on County Highway HH between Town Hall Rd and Schoenborn Rd. in the Town of Calumet. While firefighters were responding the dispatch center received a report of another grass fire in the area of Kiel Rd. and Schoenborn Rd, also in the Town of Calumet. Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says Monday night there was another fire reported in the same area. Nobody was injured in any of the fires.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
