Last month’s snow and ice storm seems like a distant memory with summer like temperatures this week. National Weather Service Meteorologist Sarah Marquardt says rain and thunderstorms and temps in the 70s signals a change in the weather pattern. “…so we’re going to get this continuous push of warm, moist air that’s going to fuel thunderstorms and some heavy rain,” Marquardt told WFDL news. Marquardt says mild temperatures are expected to continue into next week.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
