5-2-18 epa finds nothing toxic at refinery explosion site

SUPERIOR, Wis. Fond du lac police made a high risk stop on an individual wanted on an outstanding warrant.   Several officers with guns drawn converged on the Fourth Street residence over the noon hour Tuesday.  An ambulance was stationed near the scene as a precaution.

5-1-18 remains of two people found in winnebago county home following fire

TOWN OF CLAYTON, Wis. (AP) — Sheriff's officials in Winnebago County say the remains of two people have been found after firefighters extinguished a house fire in the Town of Clayton.  Authorities say they are no longer actively looking for a man who lived in the home as a person of interest in their investigation.  There were reports of gunshots, but officials say it's unclear whether any shots were fired […]

5-1-18 woman seriously injured in dodge county industrial accident

A woman was flown by helicopter to the hospital  with serious injuries following an industrial accident in Dodge County Monday.    The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office says the woman was working on a ladder at Advanced Disposal when the ladder was struck by a vehicle.  She fell about ten feet and suffered a head injury.  The plant is located on Highway V about a mile south of Mayville.

5-1-18 bonfire spreads to garage in fdl county

A portion of Highway 23 near Rosendale was closed this morning as  firefighters worked to extinguish a garage fire.  Sheriff’s captain Ryan Waldschmidt says burning embers from a bonfire the night before reignited this morning and spread to a nearby garage.  Nobody was injured.

5-1-18 waupun garage fire

Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a garage in Waupun.  Firefighters were called to the scene in the 700 block of Country View Drive to extinguish the fire.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

5-1-18 waupun man charged in 2016 fatal traffic crash

A Waupun man has  been charged in connection with a fatal motor vehicle crash that happened nearly two years ago.  Fifty eight year old James Jensen made his initial Fond du Lac court appearance Monday on charges of  second degree reckless homicide, homicide by negligient operation of a vehicle and recklessly endangering safety.  Bail was set at $10,000 cash.  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for  May 10.
