There will be a handful of contested races on the spring election ballot in Fond du Lac County. Four candidates are running for three seats on the Fond du lac city council. Incumbent Brian Kolstad and challengers, Jim Lorrigan, former councilember Derek Terbeest, Stephany O’Malley, Alicia Hans and Daniel Degner all filed their nomination papers. Councilmembers Greg Giles and Catherine Block are not running for re-election. Incumbent Fond du lac school board members Mark Jurgella and Peggy Breister are running for re-election along with challengers Nick Teifke and Richard Gedemer. Longtime school board member Elizabeth Hayes is not running for re-election. In Waupun, Lori Van Buren is running against Stephen Chene who was appointed to the Waupun School Board last year. Incumbents Bill Bruins and Milan Vande Zande are also running for another term. Incumbent Ann Price and challengers John Duffy and Chuck Hornung are running for two seats on the North Fond du Lac Village board. Incumbent Keith King is not running for re-election. Ripon attorney Douglas Iverson is challenging Jerry Jaye for the Lakeside Municipal Court Judgeship.
