The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of stray bullets striking a house and shed early New Year’s morning. The Sheriff’s Office says nobody was injured when bullets struck the front window of a home as well as a shed and pickup truck in the shed on County Road W near Hemlock Road in the town of Trenton. The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying who may have fired the shots. Sheriff Dale Schmidt says it is unknown at this time if this was an accidental shooting from a nearby residence or field or if this was an intentional act. Less than an hour later there was an additional report of shots being fired several miles north of this location on Buckhorn Road near County Road C in which gun fire was heard. The area was checked and nothing was found upon arrival. Investigators say it is not clear if these two incidents are related.
