Enrollment will begin this week along with information meetings for the new Treffert Way Charter School in North Fond du Lac. Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says the the K-6 will focus on each child’s unique talents, individually tailoring the students learning experience to his or her strengths. Enrollment will take place January 14 through February 8. Enrollment is first open to current North Fond du lac students with remaining seats available to surrounding districts. Informational meetings will be held January 15 and 21 at the Early Learning Center in North Fond du Lac. The school is being funded with a five year $700,000 grant.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
