The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal pickup versus pedestrian crash. It happened shortly after 5:30pm Sunday on Highway 151 at County Highway W in the town of Calumet. An investigation shows a 36-year-old Kaukauna woman was struck by a pickup on 151 after exiting Capone’s of Pipe Restaurant and Bar. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup driver, a 31-year-old New Holstein man and his two children passengers, were not injured. Alcohol and speed do not appear to be a factor for operator of the pickup. Names are not being released at this time. USH 151 was closed between CTH HH and Johnsburg Rd for 2 hours and 35 minutes.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
