The Fond du Lac Water Utility is issuing a reminder for residents about proper identification of Utility employees. Water Utility manager Travis Kloetzke says the issue came to the forefront recently when a man was posing as a utility worker in Green Bay to get into people’s homes. Kloetzke says Fond du Lac water utility employees will carry city issued photo IDs and will also drive city of Fond du Lac utility vehicles. The city of Fond du Lac has not had any reported incidents. However, if residents encounter a similar situation they are asked to call police.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
