A Dodge County Huber inmate who failed to return to the jail after his preapproved shift at work is in custody. Paul Digangi Jr. was taken into custody after information was received from a citizen regarding his whereabouts. Digangi was arrested in the City of Mayville and was taken to the Dodge County Detention Facility. Digangi was serving a 360 day Huber sentence at the Dodge County Jail for domestic abuse related intimidation of a victim.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
