MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Two owners of wedding barns in Wisconsin have filed a lawsuit seeking to ensure that they don't need to obtain liquor licenses in order to hold private parties where alcohol is served.  The lawsuit was filed Tuesday in Dunn County Circuit Court. 1-16-19 post holiday blood shortage

The American Red Cross-Wisconsin chapter is issuing an emergency call for blood donors.  Red Cross spokesperson Laura McGuire says following the winter holidays there is a serious blood shortage.  McGuire says blood products are currently being distributed to hospitals faster than donations are coming in.  Several blood donation clinics are scheduled over the next few weeks in Fond du lac and Dodge counties.  For more information you may log on […]

1-16-19 hundreds of federal workers in wi seek unemployment

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Hundreds of federal workers in Wisconsin are seeking unemployment benefits from the state as the partial federal government shutdown continues.  The state Department of Workforce Development reported Tuesday that 426 unemployment claims were filed between Jan. 7 and Jan. 11. 1-16-19 hospital hazardous waste settlement

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Wisconsin's attorney general says a Milwaukee hospital will pay $360,000 to settle a lawsuit for improperly disposing of pharmaceutical hazardous waste from 2013 to 2016.  Attorney General Josh Kaul on Tuesday announced the settlement approved by a Milwaukee County judge.  The lawsuit from the state against Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital Inc., also accused the hospital of failing to keep records of hazardous waste solvents and not providing […]

1-16-19 fatal crash victim on i-41 in dodge county identified

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal crash last Thursday night on Interstate 41 in Dodge County.  The Sheriff’s Office says 41 year old Cale Dietrich of Campbellsport was killed in the crash on 41 near state Highway 28.  Investigators say Dietrich was driving a pickup truck northbound in the  southbound lanes of 41 when he struck a southbound semi truck.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about scammers using the name of the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office to scam residents.   Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the caller tells the victim that there is a warrant for their arrest and they need to report to the Dodge County Jail to pay a bond.   The number that was used in the scam was 920-386-3320.  Schmidt says this is not a valid […]
